TEEN PORTRAITS

Most teens find having their portrait taken by a professional photographer a rather daunting task. I relate it to different generations trying to connect with the current generation’s music. They feel I might be out of touch and not do them justice if they allow me to photograph them.

So my approach to the teenage shoot is simple…Find out a little more about them, find out what type of imagery they like. What styles of clothing do they prefer? What kind of music are they in too? Do they like a particular fashion style? Black and white or Colour? All of these questions enable me to understand the type of person they are and in turn, helps me design and stylise their shoot. More often than not, the teenagers asking to return for another shoot.
